Abstract Submission
Abstracts have been called for papers to be presented at the Convocation. Dedicated presentation
sessions will provide time for the authors to discuss their papers with the Convocation participants
in a relaxed and informal setting.
Abstracts should be submitted electronically. Authors may choose to present their studies/cases in
the form of either Oral Presentation or Poster Presentation. Abstracts may only be submitted via email to 19convocation@gmail.com .
Oral presenters who would like to compete for the Young
Lecturer Award should complete an application form from the website:
www.racds.org/events/convocation/young_lecturer_award
A separate presentation session will be allocated for the selected applicants to this competition.
Abstract Guidelines
• The paper/abstract should be original and has not been presented previously.
• Individuals may present only one poster and one paper (excluding speakers).
• Individuals can co-author multiple abstracts.
• The abstract should be written in English and must not exceed 300 words.
• Abstract title is limited to ten words.
• Authors' last names preceded by their initials.
• Put an asterisk after the last name of the author who will present the paper.
• Name of institution(s) should follow the name of author(s) on a separate line.
• If there is more than one institution, use numbers to match institution to author.
• The abstract for research project should be organised into the four headings: Background, Methods, Results and Conclusion.
• Authors should indicate the preferred mode of presentation when they submit their abstracts.
Modes of Presentation
The Convocation will include presentations in the following modes:
Oral presentation:
• Power point presentations (all equipment provided).
• Presentations last 10 minutes.
• Discussion after presentations lasts 5 minutes.
• Oral Sessions will be chaired.
Poster presentations:
• Presented on a poster board (size limit is 80cmW x 160cmH).
• Authors are responsible for the fabrication, mounting and removal of their posters.
Deadline for Submission
The deadline for submission of abstracts is 29 February 2008, after this date no more abstracts will be accepted. Notification of acceptance/rejection and oral/poster presentations will be sent out by email on or before 8 March 2008. Please note that the presenter of an accepted abstract must register and pay the registration fee for the Convocation before 15 March 2008 in order to present the abstract at the meeting.
